About the Author

Chris Heimerdinger has been writing adventure and fantasy novels for Latter-day Saint readers for the past seven years. At first his intention was to make this a sideline and continue his ambition to become a film director or to write books for the national market. Each time he would finish an LDS novel, he would sit down to write something for the national market, but the inevitable result was a "stupor fo creativity." He says that only by turning his attention back to an LDS-oriented project would the ideas start to flow again and the writer's block disappear. Thus he concluded that writing for Latter-day Saints was where he belonged, at least for the present.

"Arists should be driven and motivated by the things they care about the most," Chris explains. "If I didn't write stories on gospel themes and subjects, it would be a denial of who I am."

To date, Chris has written five novels for Latter-day Saint readers. The first was Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites, followed by its sequel, Gadiantons and the Silver Sword. Next came Eddie Fantastic and Daniel and Nephi. Chris is proud to continue the "Tennis Shoes" saga with Tennis Shoes and the Feathered Serpent, Book One. Readers can expect the second volume of this epic adventure in early 1996.

Chris currently resides in West Valley City, Utah, with his wife, Catherine Elizabeth, and their two sons, Steven Teancum (6) and Christopher Ammon (1).
